Boat capsizes in Andhra Pradesh; 16 dead

At least 16 persons drowned and 30 others were missing after an overloaded boat capsized in Godavari river in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday morning.

The country-made boat ferrying about 40-50 pilgrims to a temple overturned at around 0630 hours in the morning.

So far 12 bodies, including four children and five women, have been retrieved. Rescue operations have been launched to trace the missing. But authorities fear the toll would go up.
