Kaziranga: another rhino poached

A rhino was poached in the Kaziranga National Park taking the count of poached rhinos to 10 this year.

Kaziranga, which has the highest one horn rhino population has been under stress for a number of years for very poor park management, non implementation of wildlife crime control measures, poor infrastructure facilities within the park and archaic weaponry and pathetic conditions of the forest guards.

Kaziranga is known as one of India's best conservation efforts but the government has been ineffective in fighting poachers in this park.
